And that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him, For the LORD is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.(Deuteronomy 30:20)
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is, his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2)
Feeling like life has passed you by? Do you think a lot about how much time has been lost, what you wish that you would have done differently, while constantly counting the years that you feel were wasted? No worries, you are among many others who spend countless hours a week regretting their past life decisions, or better yet, adding them up constantly, while experiencing the pain in the center of their gut. (The dreaded what if?)
Well, let’s keep this short, sweet, and to the point. You won’t get those years back, you can’t fix the past, and counting only makes it worse. It’s a new day! Posture yourself for the win, keep your boots on the ground, and don’t look back. You got this! You are not as late as you think, here’s why!
Sometimes, the time that you think was lost, is really time that made you wiser, patient, and more appreciative. God has a way of generating leads for your future that will maximize your potential, talents, and gifts while redeeming the time. That simply means that God can multiply what you think was lost, by creating new leads, and giving you favor that will give you a free pass to the front of life’s line.
The life decisions that you make are often a result of your past leadership, experiences, or the lack thereof. Perhaps as a child your parents were not resolute in their relationship with God, and didn’t know or understand biblical principals. Therefore, they were unable to mentor their children in understanding how spiritual matters affect the natural outcome of their lives. Or perhaps you had awesome parenting, but rebelled, weren’t interested, or simply didn’t take the time to listen. Either way, one of two things will occur when a person has experienced trouble. Either the trouble will make them wiser, or the trouble will swallow them up. You’ve heard the old saying “Fool me once shame on you, Fool me twice shame on me”? All that means is the first mistake can be a result of unfortunate incidents, but the second time around one should be prepared, and postured for the takedown. The devil should never get overtime on your watch.
Peter (5:8): Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour.
Remember time to God is very different from how we as humans view time. As the scripture says “But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord, a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day”. (2nd Peter 3:8) In the presence of God, all is eternity, omnipotent, omnipresent, and timeless. Time doesn’t apply to God, and time was created for mankind, not God.
