What happens when your Boss is a Tyrant?

What happens when your Boss is a “Tormentor or Tyrant”?

Having to show up to work every day can appear similar to walking into a dark room without a light source, shield, or face mask to combat the fiery darts of the enemy. Sometimes those in authority can lose their sense of humanity, being blinded by pride, power, and ignorance. The Bible tells us to approach those in authority with reverence, however, God has not made us doormats, and wishes for us to live and walk in prosperity, peace, and happiness. Proverbs 15:1 says “A soft answer turns away wrath, but harsh words stir up anger.

Interestingly enough though, Proverbs 17:12- says it’s “Better to meet a bear robbed of her cubs than a fool bent on folly”. So that tells you a bit about the character of tyrants, and gives you some insight into their personality, and how to deal with them. You wouldn’t randomly approach a bear, therefore you shouldn’t without thought and counsel (prayer) approach a boss that is a tormentor or tyrant.

Think about that in the context of those (including your boss) who seek to torment you. It’s a useless endeavor, and a waste of valuable resources but when people don’t know GOD, they lack character, and their job or career becomes their first love and their GOD. You can see it in their “Ego”, and their poor manners and demeanor. These tyrant bosses flex their muscles at work and likely can’t get away with this behavior anywhere else, so it’s their “Platform” to bully their subordinates and this behavior incites even more poor judgment when not placed in check.

Proverbs 17: 14-15 says “Starting a quarrel is like breaching a dam; so drop the matter before a dispute breaks out. Acquitting the guilty and condemning the innocent- The Lord detests them both”.

Remember there is never a single act of wickedness, depravity, iniquity, or roguery that escapes GOD. The Bible is clear that as long as the earth remains there will be seedtime and harvest. A society so eloquently refers to it as “KARMA”. Either way, there is no way of escape for our sins, and the ultimate act of betrayal to GOD is when those in authority with morals that are paper-thin demeans people, especially the children of God with rascality and viciousness.

So what now? According to Ecclesiastes 11: 1-2, we should “cast our bread upon the waters; for you shalt find it after many days. Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for you know not what evil shall be upon the earth. That simply means that for those who have not sown into good ground or have no deeds of kindness or compassion, (or gifts, money, time, compassion, etc.) they will not receive anything good in return. But we should give in many places to people of different walks of life so that our harvest will spring up in various locations and times in our lives, so we won’t be left empty and without people around us to care and look out for our best interest when we are in need.

Wicked bosses have been around since the beginning of time, and they won’t be disappearing anytime soon. What’s important to remember is that you should never allow your boss or anyone as far as that goes to set the tone for how you act or what mindset you claim for that day. You are royalty, a chosen people, and God has your best interest at heart, and it is not his will that his people be mistreated or suppressed. Embrace the fact that you have dominion over evil spirits, darkness, and tyrants, and your prayers through the word of GOD is how you will prevail and take authority over these dictator spirits. It is important to note that God will either move them, or he will move you to higher ground, no exception unless you are there to learn a valuable lesson, or to become one. Therefore embrace peace, get your lesson quickly so you can move on to a more profitable place of employment.

Don’t allow these oppressors to impale you or to reduce your work ethic or integrity. Regardless of the state of mind of those who you encounter, or collaborate with, don’t compromise your Godly integrity. Use the 5-minute prayer rule every day before entering your office, meeting, or before signing onto your computer each day.
