“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” PSALM 23:4
There’s nothing like feeling afraid for absolutely no reason at all. It’s the devil’s go-to weapon of choice, and unless you recognize it, you will be his next victim. FEAR has been said to mean “False Evidence Appearing Real” and exactly how the devil wins, threatening your mind with events that haven’t even happened, the dreaded what if?
Fear is the culprit for depression, unforgiveness, anger, resentment, and countless other weapons in the arsenal of the wicked one. Knowing and understanding your rights as a believer in Christ can quickly dismiss those threats and shifting your mind back to stage one the PEACE zone.
Stage two, three, and four are where the devil is most comfortable, and why he plays the crisscross apple sauce with your mind. In this game, the devil forces you to freak out, backing you up into a corner and ultimately sitting on the floor with your legs crossed in front of you Indian style, and tears streaming down your face.
Crying has never been a crime, but allowing fear to torment you when there is no imminent danger or threat is. So the next time that fear (The Bully) approaches bearing it’s fiery dart of panic, announce that you are a child of the most high GOD, and fear has fought its last fight. You have been announced the reigning king or queen of victory, and fear has taken it’s the rightful place, permanently out of your life.
“Fear not” was used over 80 times in the Bible, and rightfully so, it’s the devil’s attempt to decrease your hope in Christ.
