Matthew 24:6–8 – “And you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that you be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.”
Matthew 24: 12-13 – Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of many will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
Matthew 24:14 – And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations, and then shall the end come.
Naturally, this global pandemic could drive the most spiritual person to revisit the Bible, scouring through the book of revelations to ensure that they don’t have the mark of the beast written indiscriminately on their forehead or hand, and picnicking at the impending decimation of mankind. It is a valid concern. (Revelations 20:4, 19:20, 16:2) )
The word Apocalypse in itself is not in the bible, however, Apokalypsis is the Greek word for Revelation, which means to remove the cover, the unveiling, or the uncovering of things not previously known.
There have been countless movies and too many to name that has attempted to depict the unfolding of the great Apocalypse. Although the zombie-invasion, dystopian, and end of the world wasteland films have drawn in millions of viewers to watch the blockbuster motion pictures on the big screen, most viewers leave confused, with more questions than answers.
These movies claim to have a superhero who saves earth, battles evil, genetically engineered monsters, storms, black rain, deadly cyclones, deadly radiation, incurable diseases, mass economic collapse, in the pixelated twisted tales of the unchartered war of man versus beast. However, their depiction of the apocalyptic clash of sinister and masterful warriors who ultimately fight to survive the plagues that threaten to kill humanity by transforming themselves into deviant warriors are anything but accurate and should come with a full disclosure “For entertainment purposes only”. Just so you know, no such events will occur, and there isn’t a person, creature or being who will be able to withstand or survive the wrath of God, save those who bare the mark of God. (Revelation Chapter 9. verses 1-6).
What now? America appears to be falling from grace, both great and small. Notwithstanding, all will have to stand before the throne of God, to give an account for the deeds done in our bodies. Death and hell will be thrown into the Lake of Fire, which is the second death, (Revelation 20:14), and for those whose name is not found in the Book of Life, there will be a calamity. That simply means we must conduct a rapid introspective look at our hearts and works to align them with scripture while there is still time. (Revelations 22: 10-13, Revelations 21:8)
(Chronicles 7:14) “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”.
Remember the days when America was referred to as “One Nation under God”? well, those days are moving at full speed in the opposite direction, boasting a curtain of moral fiber that is paper-thin. America is under siege by sin through hatred, murder, sexual immorality, greed, ungodliness, lust, racial inequality, political corruption, and political division. America the great is fading in the background and losing it’s Godly potency and has left its first love (GOD). That leads us back to the original question is the onset of COVID-19 the ushering in of the Apocalypse?
Scripture does not support the COVID-19 as being the actual Apocalypse, (although we have experienced Apocalyptic like occurrences) however, we are approaching a time when God will come quickly to reward every man accounting to his works, as he is Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. (Revelations 22, 6-21).
And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that hear say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. (Revelation 22:17)
Blessed are they that do his commandments, for they may have the right to the tree of life and may enter in through the gates into the city. (Revelation 22:14)
This is not a time to panic, but a time to repent, to study and to seek God’s face, as the righteous people of God will not perish, but have eternal life.
